Howie Miller is one of the biggest men in comedy. And we’re talking heart! Well ok, ego too.
But that ego is well deserved because he is also one of the funniest stand-up comedians in North America and a Canadian Comedy Award nominee for his work on CAUTION: May Contain Nuts as well! If you disagree, he will punch you in the face – with jokes! A First Nation Descendant of the Cree Nation, Howie was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. His quick wit, unique point of view on multi-ethnic stereotypes, and stellar impressions are enjoyed by all audiences, regardless of age, race, or gender. Howie has garnered numerous television appearances and is in great demand on the corporate comedy circuit….as well as the hyper-cutthroat Bar Mitzvah circuit. His stand-up routine also includes entertaining stories about his son Tyson’s overnight success playing a member of the wolf pack in the blockbuster Twilight Movies: “New Moon”, “Eclipse” and “Breaking Dawn.” As well as stories about his jealousy of his son when he beat him to #5 on his bucket-list (the one that says “Have your own action figure.”)
In 2010, Howie joined the Pow Wow Comedy Jam and they have received acclaim all over North America, recently earning “Entertainer of the Year” honours by the National Indian Gaming Association and “Comedic Performance of the Year” at the National Indigenous Awards in New Mexico. Howie was also featured in the Showtime television special No Reservations Needed and he can be seen on CBC in the Winnipeg Comedy Festival: Welcome to Turtle Island 2 and in his own half-hour comedy special, Comedy Now Presents Howie Miller.
One day in the not too distant past, Howie saw Blacklisted and Blacklisted saw Howie. It was love at first sight as they watched Howie’s side-splitting stand-up comedy routine. Thus Howie joined CAUTION: May Contain Nuts, and they’ve all been bickering ever since.
